NRSI is a research-based educational organization dedicated to improving literacy. Located in Syosset, New York, NRSI combines a dramatically effective reading program with a network of consultants and trainers who are located throughout the United States.

Developed by NRSI founder Marie Carbo, the Carbo Reading Program has received national validations as a research-based language arts program and an outstanding school reform model that has produced consistently high results across every grade level and educational setting. NRSI consultants have trained teachers and administrators in every state in America—through introductory and in-depth trainings, seminars, and inspirational annual national conferences. NRSI has trained more than 400,000 educators, and the program is used extensively.
