Carbo Recorded Books K-10            Research on the Carbo Method of Recording
Description of the Carbo Method of Recording

Carbo Recorded Books K-10

What is the Carbo Recorded-Book® Method?
During her years as a teacher of special-needs children, Dr. Carbo created a method of recording audio books that enables low-level readers to improve their reading skills dramatically. Tens of thousands of students have learned to read better in short periods of time with our recorded books. Researchers have reported extremely high gains with emerging readers and at-risk readers of all ages, including Title 1, special education, ESOL, and ELL. Read more.

How Does It Work?
Marie Carbo’s method of recording enables students of all ages to read better in short periods of time. Dr. Carbo records with a special slow pace, special phrasing, and good expression. She places a small amount of text on a tape side so that students can re-listen to that portion of the book a few times and then read back the material with ease, fluency, and good comprehension.
